We book your due date not your appointment so it’s never too early to book a newborn photo session!
We are often booked up months in advance so if you book early, we hold a slot for you around your due date. It is best for babies to be photographed within the first two weeks after birth.
Once you are booked in, we are just waiting on your call to let us know baby has arrived and then we arrange your Newborn Session date with you. No scrambling around trying to find a photographer to fit you in.
Stress free! Let’s face it childbirth and those early days are stressful enough without adding this to list. Best time to book is in your 2nd trimester. You have time to ask all the questions you want. Time to visit studio if you wish to see it and what we offer and get a sense that we can give you what you are looking for.
I really want to have a newborn photo shoot but I feel nervous about booking in while I’m still pregnant. I’d prefer to wait until baby is born. Is there any point in trying to book in after I give birth?
Yes. It is always worth a call. Because we hold slots free around due dates, sometimes we actually have free slots because as you know….. babies do not always arrive on time. However, I would stress, we have had to disappoint people because a lot of the time we do not have short notice availability.
Once you have pre booked your Newborn Session, you get on with the important job of bringing a new life into this world. We will be here waiting to meet you and this new little person.
What do I have to do to book?
You can visit our website www.heydaystudios.ie where you will find all the information on Newborn Sessions. Fill out the contact form on that page and we will get back to you within 24 hours and send you booking forms. If you have questions that need to be answered just give us a phone call or email or message us.
The booking forms consists of a quote, a contract and a questionnaire.
- The quote tells you the pricing. You just have to “Accept”
- The contract is an agreement between you and Heyday Studios and is standard practice for all professional photographers. You just have to sign it (online)
- The questionnaire gives us a little information about your expectations for the session and the type of images you hope to have and what you are planning to do with them. This really helps us prepare for session. You can update and change the information on questionnaire online, right up to the time of your session.
The whole process takes less than 10 minutes.
When do I pay for session?
We do have the facility for you to pay online at time of booking but we do not insist on it. You can pay on day of session if you so wish.
What happens if I have paid and then need to cancel/postpone session?
In the unlikely event that you need to cancel/postpone your session , we will aim to reschedule you asap. if we cannot accommodate you with a suitable alternate date then we will refund your session fee.
I’m booked in. When do I let you know baby has been born?
Please let us know within 48 hours of your baby arriving. We will have been waiting on the good news! The earlier we know, the better. We can quickly have a look at our availability over the coming 2 weeks and give you an appointment that suits you.
Ideal time for newborn photos is between 6 and 15 days. We want to capture the very best images of your gorgeous new baby. Working together to plan the session, ensures that this happens.
What happens if for some reason my baby is older than 15 days? Can we still get photos?
Yes of course. We say ideally 6 to 15 days as baby tends to be still very sleepy & curled up and this helps us to pose the baby easily. However, sometimes this timeline is just not possible. We will still take photos of baby when older. We may have to adjust the session so it is more suitable for an older baby. Should this happen, we would discuss all this with you before session. The adjustments needed would depend on the baby. The baby is always the BOSS!
What do I have to do before I come for session?
2 – 3 days before the session, we send you a detailed prep guide by email. This gives you all the information you need about getting you and baby set up for session.
During newborn session, can I get a photo of us and his bother/ sister with our new baby?
Of course. Not only do we do this, we encourage it! These are photographs that will be treasured many years from now, when baby is all grown up. There is no extra charge for this, it is an integral part of the session.
