Who Is a Heyday Baby?
A Heyday Baby is typically photographed within the first 2–3 weeks, when babies are still very sleepy and easier to settle.
These sessions are designed for parents who want to capture this early stage properly, without feeling unsure about how it all works.
Most families book during pregnancy so a session can be scheduled around their due date.
What’s Included in Your Newborn Session?
- Up to 2 hour newborn session in our Portlaoise studio
- Use of wraps, outfits and props
- Parent and sibling photographs included
- A curated gallery of edited images to view and choose from
- In-studio viewing and ordering appointment
Session Fee €99
The session fee is paid at the time of booking and secures your session.
Images and products are purchased separately.
Most families invest between €500–€1500 on their final images
Booking Your Newborn Session
We recommend booking during pregnancy so a space can be held around your due date.
Once your baby arrives, we’ll confirm your session within the first 2–3 weeks.
Payment plans for print and digital packages are available and can be discussed at your ordering appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions
When Should I book my Newborn Session?
It’s best to book during pregnancy, as newborn sessions take place in the first 2–3 weeks when babies are most settled and easier to photograph.
We understand life gets busy and some parents enquire after baby arrives, but as a busy studio we cannot always guarantee availability.
Once your baby arrives, let us know within 48 hours and we will schedule your session date.
Where do the sessions take place?
- All Newborn Sessions take place Monday - Friday morning in Heyday Studios, Portlaoise.
What happens if my baby arrives earlier or later than expected
Due dates can vary, so we work flexibly around your baby.
Once your baby arrives, simply get in touch and we will adjust your session to a time that suits you and your baby.
What Happens During the session?
You’ll arrive at our Portlaoise studio where we guide the session at your baby’s pace, allowing time for feeding, settling, and breaks when needed.
If sibling or family images are included, we usually take these first before focusing on your newborn.
What Happens Afterwards?
Before you leave, we will schedule your ordering appointment for around two weeks later.
Your images are carefully selected and edited, and you will return to the studio to view them and choose your prints and wall art.
How long does it take to receive my images?
We aim to have most products ready within 3\4 weeks of your order being placed.
Bespoke items such as frames or acrylic pieces take longer as they are custom made, usually up to four weeks.
Do I need to decide everything before booking?
No. Booking simply secures your session. You’ll choose your images and products after your session.

Your Heyday Experience
All newborn sessions take place Monday to Friday in our Portlaoise studio.
The space is set up to be calm and comfortable, with everything prepared so you can focus on your baby while we guide the session.
There’s no rush. We allow time for feeding, settling, and working at your baby’s pace throughout.
